ABOUT US CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Creating A Better Tomorrow

Whilst our core business is protecting, delivering and storing yours, we are also committed to creating a positive today and tomorrow.

The success and strength of Wells Fargo would not be possible without the dedicated team of 5,800 employees. All employed on a full time basis, we strive to take care of their wellbeing by providing:

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage
  • Bonuses for veteran employees
  • Transport for all employees working on late shifts
  • All our staff are provided with an ample supply of uniforms
  • Internal promotions that guarantee every staff member upward mobility and growth in the company. All supervisor jobs are filled by current employees
  • We have an outstanding staff retention because of our favourable working environment
Our Community

We extend our skills to offer support to various initiatives including the Christmas Fair held at the Racecourse. Our team have been co-sponsors and organisers of this worthy event for the past 13years. The Christmas Fair contributes approximately 3.4 million Kenya shillings to needy charities annually.

Beneficiaries include:

  • Kwale Eye District Hospital
  • Kenya Association For The Welfare Of The Epileptics
  • Karen Street Boys Trust
  • Nairobi Hospice
  • Surgical Hope
  • Riding For The Disabled
  • Little Sisters Of The Poor
  • Various individual causes with tangible results such as removal of disfiguring tumors, corrective surgery and eye operations

Other initiatives that we have supported include:

  • The Rhino Charge: every year we enter two cars, contributing over 2million Kenya shillings a year towards the Rhino Ark charitable trust.
    • This charity is set out to protect the natural biodiversity of Kenya’s flora and fauna as well as preserving Kenya’s water catchment areas
    • The Rhino Ark charitable trust has also completed fencing the Aberdares and is now planning on fencing both Mt. Kenya and a section of the Mau forest
  • The Standard Chartered Marathon: we have provided security in 2006, 2007, and 2008 with over 200 personnel.
    • Our “ Team Fargo” consisting of 60 staff also participated in the 10km and 21 km race
    • The proceeds of the marathon are directed towards the support of “Seeing is Believing”, a Standard Chartered Bank Global initiative for eradication of avoidable blindness in children under the age of nine years
Our World

Our vision is to create a better, safer and more developed environment for our future generations. We have therefore pioneered a project that involves setting up a bio diesel plantation in Kulalu Ranch outside Tsavo, Kenya that will help reduce negative impacts on our world.

  • Kulalu Ranch is a semi- arid area which can only grow the Pongamia tree and Castor due to the damage brought about by charcoal burners and poachers
  • The Pongamia tree will provide options for bio fuel
  • 80,000 acres plantation will be used to extract the fuel thus creating employment in the region
  • The proceeds of the bio diesel will partly go into funding a 60,000 acre sanctuary that has been set up in Galana Ranch bordering Tsavo East National Park to help sustain game conservation
  • Our very ambitious goal is to be the first company in the world to run a fleet of over 300 vehicles and all our premises entirely on bio fuel

We have also maintained a permaculture garden at our training school that is both sustainable and organic. Our garden is beneficial to the environment because it does not use harmful chemicals and toxins. Permaculture gardening is a new, popular technique that uses an integrated design system modelled on nature.
